We live in the age of stellar achievements and a point to note is that today's achievers have no age. However, things were much different till like ten years ago. Back then, if you were to tell your parents that you wanted to leave the rat race and branch out on your own or consider an alternate career, they would have advised you to wait and "give it some time" or rethink. Ideas of starting early were usually met with resistance amidst doubts about experience and delivery capabilities. But today, age is just a number. In the present economy, one is not required to cross an age threshold to prove an idea successful. We are seeing a stream of young achievers with steely determination and endless imagination fueling creativity in all fields. Be it sports or a startup.

We know that our young achievers have done extraordinary things and made our families, the country, and each of us proud.

Sakshi Malik

Sakshi Malik has been instrumental in taking sports early on and coming out shining. Malik started by making a mark in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where she bagged the silver medal, followed by a bronze at the 2015 Asian Wrestling Championships. She is the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics and bagged a bronze in Rio 2016. Not just that, she is the fourth female medalist in the country. Shakshi is 29 today, but who can forget the victorious 24-year-old girl bagging the bronze at Rio? We hope she brings many more laurels in women's wrestling and Indian sports.

Anuja Chauhan

Advertising slogans can be quirky and sometimes become catchlines that help self a product and service and become immortal. But have you wondered who the minds behind the catchiest ad slogans in the country are? Meet Anuja Chauhan. Starting her career at one of India's premier advertising agencies at the tender age of 23, she, in the next few years, coined some of India's most iconic catchphrases, "Yeh Dil Mange More," "Tedha Hai Par Mera Hai," and "Be A Little Dillogical." Today at just 33 years, she was among the youngest Vice-Presidents in the agency's history.

Nikhil Joseph

Nikhil is a man of arts from the field of science. A mechanical engineer with a passion for photography, he was instrumental in co-founding The Postbox, a product design company, at the young age of 24. This budding young entrepreneur used Instagram as a promotional tool and faced many hurdles because of his age and less experience. Today The Postbox is a household name and a beacon that keeps indie art alive.

Abhiraj Bhal

All of you must have looked for a plumber to fix a broken pipe or searched for a photographer to click pictures of a school reunion, and chances are that you have been able to find both using Urban Clap. Abhiraj Bhal, the co-founder of Urban Clap, started early. An Alumni of IIT Kanpur, he and his partners – Raghav Chandra and Varun Khaitan, were able to raise $190 Million for their seven-year-old startup. Today the company's roughly 35,000 professionals offer at-home services ranging from grooming to plumbing. And if you are still guessing his age, he is only 35 years old.

Shaili Chopra

Shaili Chopra is a journalist with a difference. She is an entrepreneur too. Founder of two successful startups, She The People and Golfing Indian, Shaili, started as a business news anchor at ET Now for years before she could sense the rise of the digital wave and take up entrepreneurship. At 35, she is one of the country's youngest and most eminent journalists. With her decade and half of experience in journalism with stints as lead anchor of ET NOW, a decent live coverage of the 26/11 attacks, and awards for Best TV Anchor and Best TV English Reporter, she is counted among the 50 most influential women in the country.

In the present times, if one has the will to do things and backs talent with hard work, one can reach the sky. Interestingly, many young achievers in the country have reached milestones very early. It's a known fact also that young achievers in India are not born with a golden spoon, and often it is the result of their effort, ideas, and faith that makes their dreams come true, and they taste success early, proving that skill is all.

Authors Bio

Poornima writes about the mundane and the most predictable. What interests her is weaving absurd images to create poetry. She has authored three books of poetry: 'Anything but Poetry' by Writers Workshop, 'Thirteen: Household poems' by Yavanika Press, and 'Strings Attached' by Red River Press. When not working, writing, cooking or cleaning, she likes listening to Hindustani Classical and to the umpteen stories of her 10-year-old daughter. She is always on a lookout for stories as she believes that everyone and everything is made of one.
