Accounting and Finance : The Journey from Classroom to Corporate |. An interactive session with Akhil Kapadiya

Dear Learners of JAIN Online let’s achieve financial success together with our session Accounting and Finance.

The session commenced by playing the after-movie of Dance workshop, then Ms Seema Vikas Gadiya took forward the session by giving a warm welcome to all the participants and also introduced the guest speaker for the evening Mr Akhil Kapadiya. 

Akhil Kapadiya is a Charted Accountant with 20+ years of experience providing Statutory Audit and Accounting Advisory services. He is an Ex-Partner of PwC, KPMG and Grant Thornton and has strong expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards/Indian Accounting Standards. 

Akhil is credited with establishing the accounting advisory practice of PwC Hyderabad, which is now self-sustaining. He has managed/led audits of prominent organizations like Coromandel International, DuPont, Hindustan Unilever, GMR Group and Rain Cements.

In this session he discussed many concepts of accounting, where these accounting and financial concepts can be put to use like corporate finance, auditing services, fin-tech, investments, and banking. He also explained how these concepts helps to carve the company's financial position. He also briefed on how these financial statements act as a life blood to any company or business. 

He surveyed many companies and brought some valuable feedback, so, that learners can work upon feedback and get better at corporate job. The feedback from the hiring companies:

1. Focus should shift from short term to long term growth.
2. Need more practical experience beyond theory covered in college.
3. Should have more knowledge and working experience in the latest trends in technology.
4. More knowledge in functional areas such as P2P, R2R, O2O, compliances, etc.
5. Significant time and resources required post-employment for training & upskilling.
6. People management skills.
7. Focus on soft skills like communication, email writing, office etiquettes, personality development.
8. Courageous and looking forward to take on challenges.

Post the session, Ms Seema announced about the Student Ambassador Program (SAP) where learners can take part in this wonderful program and can meet industry experts, personal mentorship sessions, be a head for your respective city to conduct engagement activities like online webinars, offline events, workshops and training sessions. Participants were very excited to involve in this program and we also shared the form where they can enroll in this. 

Over all the session went well with more than 250 participants who are attending for the entire session.
